The Unity and Oneness of the Old and New Testaments
We have added an extra page to the topic of the perfect unity and oneness between the Old and New Testaments. Indeed it is similar to the union between a man and his wife; and Jesus Christ and His Church.
Please note the following: the term 'Scriptures' in the Bible always refer to the Old and New Testaments; the term 'the Law and the Prophets' always refer to the Old Testament; the term 'It is written' quoted severally in the New Testament (even by Jesus Christ) referred to verses directly quoted from the Old Testament.
The following portions of the Holy Bible will show you the perfect unity, harmony and oneness of the Old and New Testaments:
'For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones. For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh. This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning Christ and the church.' Ephesians 5:30-32
'Philip findeth Nathanael, and saith unto him, We have found him, of whom Moses in the law, and the prophets, did write, Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph.' John 1:45
'Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me.' John 5:29
'How can ye believe, which receive honor one of another, and seek not the honor that cometh from God only? Do not think that I will accuse you to the Father: there is one that accuseth you, even Moses, in whom ye trust. For had ye believed Moses, ye would have believed me; for he wrote of me. But if ye believe not his writings, how shall ye believe my words?' John 5:44-47
'Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am.' John 8:58
'But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.' Matthew 4:4
'Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfill. For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled. Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven. For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven.' Matthew 5:17-20
'Thinkest thou that I cannot now pray to my Father, and he shall presently give me more than twelve legions of angels? But how then shall the scriptures be fulfilled, that thus it must be?' Matthew 26:53-54
